Speaking up and taking the lead.

Scouts are the original, and arguably the best section for girls and boys aged 10½ to 14 years old. Scouts try new things, setting out on their adventures and taking part in over 200 different activities.

Young people can become a Scout at around 10½ years old. Many move up from Cubs, but anyone can join Scouts, you don’t need to have been before. At about 14 years old, Scouts move on to their next adventure in Explorer Scouts.

What do our Scouts get up to?

Scouts start small but think big. They stand up for what they believe in and make a difference on their doorstops, knowing it all adds up. They’re starting to take the lead on their own adventures, building their camps or leading their activities. It’s also a chance to enjoy new activities, adventures abroad and their choice of the skills they learn for life.

Putting the pieces together.

Our Scouts work towards the nine challenge awards, so they can achieve the Chief Scout’s Gold Award, the Top Award. They also have a choice of over 70 activity badges to develop a specific skill, from angling to writing via geocaching or scientist.

The important bits:

We meet 6.30 to 8.30pm on a Wednesday Evening at Alver Valley Infant School.
